At the origins of the craft beer movement, Belgian beers like this were popular in Italy. The style features an elegant balance among the aromas of malt, hops and Belgian yeast, resulting in a complex but easy-to-drink beer. Candy sugar contributes a dry finish and typical flavor. Ideal with slow cooked meat, aged cheese and honey, nuts or chocolate desserts.
